Prep roundup: Batavia girls volleyball prevails in 3 games
BATAVIA – The Batavia girls volleyball team registered 11 blocks in Thursday’s 26-24, 21-25, 25-12 victory against Glenbard South, adding a block party element to its Volley for the Cure Night.
A subtle adjustment late in Game 2 freed the Bulldogs’ Kristen Koncelik (six blocks) and Shea Thayer (five) at the net, giving the Raiders fits.
“Just throwing them different looks helped a lot,” Batavia coach Lori Trippi-Payne said. “It forced them to go to different spots on our court and be out of position to try to dig balls they were getting to before.”
