Chef to try for third Guinness World Record

GENEVA – Chef Alain Roby of the All Chocolate Kitchen will put the finishing touches on the “World’s Longest Candy Cane” in an attempt to obtain a third Guinness World Record. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 in downtown Geneva.

The candy cane will reach 40 feet, beginning at the Geneva Courthouse and stretching to the intersection in front of the All Chocolate Kitchen, located at 33 S. Third St. in Geneva.

Roby’s attempt for a third record will place him as the only pastry chef to have three Guinness World Records. Roby has also received a Guinness record for the World’s Tallest Cooked Sugar Building, which was 12 feet, 10 inches tall; and the World’s Tallest Chocolate Sculpture, which was 20 feet, 8 inches tall. Another notable creation includes a 700-pound sculpture of Neil Armstrong in an astronaut suit created out of white chocolate for the Adler Planetarium that was featured on the Food Network and the Learning Channel.
