GENEVA – Four vehicles were burglarized in one week – three Oct. 4 and one Saturday – according to Geneva police reports.

Items valued at $285 were reported stolen Oct. 4 from a car on the 700 block of Downing Place. According to police reports, items taken were a global positioning device, iPod and charger, cigarettes and work keys.

The same day, items valued at $360 were reported stolen from a car on the 700 block of Downing Place: a global positioning device, iPod, phone charger and two pairs of sunglasses.

Also on Oct. 4, items valued at $500 were reported stolen from a car parked on the 600 block of Westfield Course: three pairs of sunglasses, one of them prescription, a garage door opener, work tools and work giveaway items.

Saturday, items valued at $225 were reported stolen from a car parked on the 400 block of Logan Avenue. According to police reports, the victim parked there at 7 p.m. to go to the homecoming dance at Geneva High School.

When he and his date returned at 10 p.m., he was missing two iPods and a cellphone, and she was missing a brown shoulder bag containing a pink hooded sweatshirt and pink sweat pants, according to reports.

As to whether the burglaries are connected, Geneva Police Cmdr. Julie Nash said there was no evidence to indicate it.

“However, [a connection] is a possibility that we will consider while actively investigating the crimes,” Nash said.
