Face Time with Kathleen McFadden
Campton Township resident Kathleen McFadden was at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva’s church picnic at Wheeler Park when she answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.
Where did you grow up? Spokane, Wash.
Pets? Sadie, a golden retriever that is also a therapy dog at the Town and Country Public Library in Elburn
Who would play you in the movie of your life? Meg Ryan
First job? I worked in the city library.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher, and I became one. I’m a professor of operations management in the College of Business at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
A movie you’d recommend? “Sound of Music”
Favorite charity? Sierra Club
Hobbies? Running, weight training, reading, writing and music
Favorite local restaurant? Francesca’s by the River in St. Charles
What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I was interviewed by Geraldo Rivera in 2002 because of my research on the link between DUI convictions and pilot flying performance. At the time, two pilots were caught drunk and flying the plane.
