Prep roundup: Kaneland boys soccer team beats Sycamore in regular-season finale

SYCAMORE – The Kaneland boys soccer team had trouble breaking through during Thursday’s match against Sycamore despite controlling the game’s flow.

Midway through the second half, Arsim Azemi relieved the tension for the Knights, scoring from about 20 yards out off a Kushstrim Ismaili assist for a 1-0 Kaneland win in the Knights’ regular season finale.

“It’s always a relief,” Kaneland coach Scott Parillo said about Azemi breaking the scoreless tie. “You’re like ‘C’mon guys, we’ve got to finish, we’ve got to put a ball in back of the net here.’ [Sycamore] didn’t threaten too much but you don’t want to tie a game when you’re playing that well. Well, I shouldn’t say we played well, but we played good enough to win.”

What do you think of people using fireworks near their homes?

That shouldn't be tolerated. It's dangerous.
I'd never do it, but I'll watch others.
It's OK so long as the fireworks are legal.
It's not a problem. It's just a way to celebrate.
I have no opinion.
