Kane County Chronicle All-Area Girls Golf team

Lauren Anderson, Batavia, So.

A sectional qualifier, Anderson dropped about 10 strokes from her 2011 average. “I see a lot of potential for her,” Bulldogs coach Morgan Connell said. “She is a smart player and knows the game well.”

Ariana Furrie, St. Charles North, Sr.

Solid all season to cap a standout career, Furrie won the Upstate Eight Conference individual title and registered the top round among area entrants at the AA state meet with a 79.

Paige Jordan, St. Charles East, Sr.

The Kane County Chronicle Girls Golfer of the Year won a season-opening invitational and the AA Crystal Lake Central Regional before making a return trip to the state meet.

Jenna Kurosky, Burlington Central, Jr.

Kurosky became the second girls golfer to advance to the AA state meet since veteran coach Deb Twenhafel started the Rockets’ program.

Jordyn McFarlane, St. Charles North, Sr.

Played through a balky back to help form a solid nucleus for North, which advanced to sectionals as a team.

Jane Noelker, St. Charles East, Sr.

Noelker came within a AA Burlington Central Sectional playoff of joining her classmate, Jordan, at the state meet in downstate Forsyth.

Darby Crane, St. Charles East, Jr.

Jessica Grill, St. Charles North, Jr.

Tori Guyton, Kaneland, So.

Megan Kelly, Geneva, Sr.

Victoria Phipps, Rosary, Jr.

Sarah Pinns, St. Francis, Sr.

Elise Anderson, Geneva, Jr.

Hailey Farmer, Wheaton Academy, Fr.

Nicole Hassels, Geneva, So.

Josie Kurosky, Burlington Central, Fr.

Sierra McNee, Batavia, Sr.

Sam Scroggin, St. Charles North, Jr.

Jenna Streich, Rosary, So.

Chris Patrick, St. Charles North

Unsure how North’s depth would emerge behind known commodities such as seniors Ariana Furrie and Jordyn McFarlane, Patrick happily watched junior Sam Scroggin settle in as a scorer, among other varsity newcomers. The North Stars won the Upstate Eight Conference tournament and finished second in the final league standings. “We were very proud that we improved and stayed steady,” Patrick said. “It helped make for a successful year.”
