FIRST TEAM
Singles
Kirby Einck, Geneva, So.
The Kane County Chronicle Girls Tennis Player of the Year finished with a 29-6 mark and won the Upstate Eight Conference River singles championship. After a third-place finish at the St. Charles East Sectional, Einck won four matches at the state tournament, including two in the winner's draw.
Miranda Grizaffi, Batavia, Sr.
The fifth player in program history to hit the 100-win mark for her career, Batavia's No. 1 singles player finished 16-12 in singles play, with all 12 of her losses coming to state tournament qualifiers. Finished third in UEC River at No. 1 singles.
Sammie Schrepferman, Kaneland, So.
The Knights' ace singles player became the first singles state tournament qualifier in program history. Closed season with a 30-7 record.
Doubles
Jelly Emmanouil (So.)-Madi Jurcenko (So.), Kaneland
First-year pairing finished with sparkling 38-3 record and became first players in Kaneland history to win matches at the state state tournament, where they advanced to the sixth round of the consolation bracket. All-state selections set school record for wins in a season.
Haydyn Jones (Jr.)-Kelsie Roberton (Jr.), St. Charles East
Lone state tournament qualifiers for St. Charles East enjoyed strong season at No. 1 doubles, where they went 5-1 in Upstate Eight Conference River matches. Won first-round match at state tournament in straight sets against team from Metamora.
Amelia Cogan (So.)-Jenny Mizikar (Jr.), Batavia
The Bulldogs' top doubles pairing finished the season with a 32-7 record that included UEC River and West Aurora Sectional championships. They won three matches at the state tournament, including two in the winner's draw.
Betsy Jones (Jr.)-Lexi Welton (Jr.), Wheaton Academy
Anchored by Welton, a three-time state qualifier in her first season playing doubles, top Warriors tandem went 29-3 on the season. Won St. Charles East Sectional doubles title and advanced to fourth round of consolation play at state tournament.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Brad Nelson, Batavia
Nelson guided the Bulldogs (19-3 overall) to their third straight conference championship and a second-place team finish at sectionals. Batavia is 24-0 in conference dual meets since 2009.
