KCChronicle.com/preps Athlete of the Week: St. Charles East soccer's T.C. Hull
Why he was selected: Hull scored each of St. Charles East's first three goals on Friday as the Saints cruised past Larkin to win the IHSA Class 3A York Sectional championship.
St. Charles East junior T.C. Hull has been the most prolific scorer in the area throughout the season, but Friday's showing against Larkin – in which the St. Charles Bank & Trust-Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week put three away to give East a 3-0 lead – was a day to remember, even by Hull's standards. Hull, who also scored in East's sectional semifinal win last week against Streamwood, touched base on his big game with sports editor Jay Schwab after Monday's practice. The following is an edited transcript:
To get three off the bat like that, was that pretty much cloud nine?
Yeah. ... Putting away three goals is pretty big, especially in a sectional championship, just getting us up 3-0, because once we got that third goal, not that the game was over but ... there was no way they were going to come back from that.
