Committee authorizes
hiring freeze exceptions

GENEVA – The Kane County Finance and Budget Committee has helped clear the way to fill county personnel positions after the post-election County Board reorganization.

During a meeting Wednesday in Geneva, the committee authorized an exception to the county’s hiring freeze to replace the health department’s director of disease control and a kennel assistant with the county’s animal control department.

Committee Chairman Jim Mitchell said the committee also is waiting for the board to reorganize before filling a finance director position. The position has been vacant since the former director moved out of state.
