Letter: Reassured about next generation

To the Editor:

If it is not too late of a subject, we would like to add our feelings about the recent event of choosing a king and queen at Geneva High School.

My wife and I were really thrilled to read about a group of students at Geneva High School selecting two special needs students as this year’s homecoming king and queen. What a great way to prove that there still is a lot of good work and unselfishness among many of our young people.

All too often we read and hear negative things involving some youngsters, but this wonderful act proves that many – and hopefully most – of our students are really “special” themselves. 

Congratulations to those involved – a terrific lesson for all of us, young and older, on unselfishness and concern for others. 

We are reassured about our next generation.
