Prep roundup: Wheaton Academy soccer advances to state semis

CHICAGO – The Wheaton Academy boys soccer team knocked off Chicago Lake View, 1-0, in Tuesday’s IHSA Class 2A Chicago Solorio Supersectional.

The Warriors advance to Friday’s 2A state semifinal at Lincoln-Way North, where Peoria Notre Dame awaits in an 11 a.m. match.

“It’s exciting to do that,” Wheaton Academy coach Jeff Brooke said. “The guys are working hard. At one point [our record] stood at 6-5 and now we’re 21-6. The guys have put a lot of work in, and we’re proud of them.”
