Face Time with Damian McCrink

Batavia resident Damian McCrink, 34, was at BatFest in Batavia when he answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Atlanta

Pets? No, but we are considering it for Christmas.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Ewan McGregor

First job? Pulling nails out of two-by-fours

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be an architect, but I became a pastor instead – of River City Church that will open next year.

A movie you’d recommend? “Blue Like Jazz”

Favorite charity? Compassion International, which helps children out of poverty

Hobbies? Movies, good
restaurants and computers

Do you speak another language? Portuguese

Favorite local restaurant? Bien Trucha in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I came to speak Portuguese because
three years ago me and my wife lived in the Republic of Mozambique in Africa doing
missions.
