Judges make important decisions that affect our daily lives. There is more to consider than just a name when casting your ballot.

The traits that need to be evaluated are: legal ability, which allows the judge to interpret and apply legal principles to situations; trial experience and other similar experience that ensures knowledge of the law; reputation for excellent character and integrity, which is the keystone to the judicial system; financial responsibility, which allows the judge to resist pressures that might resist impartiality; temperament, indicating the ability to deal with people with compassion; firmness and understanding; a record of community involvement; participation in public service, community and pro bono; a desire to improve the quality of justice through active membership in local, state and national professional associations; and use of sound judgment in professional life.

When you make a decision for Kane County Circuit Court judge, these are the factors that need to guide your decision. I have carefully reviewed these traits in both candidates and am firmly endorsing John Dalton for Kane County judge. He is the candidate who will best serve the interests of the people.
