Sound Off: The right thing to do

Who would vote for Obama?
I'm responding to the person who lives in Kane County who is a Democrat and also is voting for Obama and says to watch the movie ["Fahrenheit 9/11"], saying that Obama came into a huge mess. But it's a huge mess now. How many people in Kane County have lost their jobs? How many people are paying for their own health insurances? Gas prices are high. Do you honestly think Obama is doing such a good job? And if you are voting for him, here, we're unemployed. And as for food drives or helping the church, we're done. I can't see who would vote for Obama.

It's not about the unions
Geneva School Board, a union has never taught a child. Decertify the union. Hire the teachers back, with a normal contract. The practices of the Geneva Teachers Union [have] been long, and now we can no longer afford them. Let the union go. Keep the kids in school. It really is all about the kids, not the unions.

Table for one
I am a senior citizen, and a lot of times in the paper it shows for dinner for two, a lunch. But how about the seniors who eat by themselves? My husband passed away. My kids don't live around here, and all the people I'm used to from being in Kane County moved or live in a nursing home. They should cater to single people who eat by themselves. They cater to the ones who have somebody, and that's well and good. But when you're left alone, it's not so good.

Optimism on Fishermen's Inn
We're so happy someone finally bought Fishermen's Inn. We just hope they do not make it an a la carte restaurant. Elburn is not an Oakbrook or a city like that. That is why we never went back to Fishermen's Inn before it was changed for the worse. We had so many fond memories there. Hope and pray the new owners take this into consideration and make it the restaurant that it was years and years ago, and everyone will have fond memories, too.
