Residents question Kiva Recovery’s effect on property values

CAMPTON HILLS – A property impact study was at the center of a fifth public hearing concerning a special-use permit proposal for Kiva Recovery – a drug and alcohol treatment facility.

More than 200 people gathered Monday at the former Glenwood School – the site of the proposed Kiva Recovery facility – for a public hearing at the Campton Hills Plan Commission meeting, where residents asked questions about how the facility might affect their property values.

The property impact report, conducted in August by Collinsville-based Poletti & Associates Inc., concluded that Kiva Recovery would not negatively affect home values in the immediate vicinity.
