Her personal-record run of 16:56 at Peoria’s Detweiller Park on Saturday secured her the 2A individual title by 11 seconds, as well as instant celebrity in the school hallways. Clinton, the St. Charles Bank & Trust-Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week, recently addressed her race with Chronicle sports reporter Kevin Druley. The following is an edited transcript:
