Campton Hills teen arrested in connection with car burglaries
CAMPTON HILLS – Police last week arrested a 15-year-old Campton Hills boy they say is responsible for more than 20 car burglaries after he was seen entering a vehicle near Route 64, Campton Hills Police Department Chief Dan Hoffman said.
A drive-up employee of Old Second National Bank, 40W422 Route 64, called police Oct. 31 after seeing someone on a skateboard enter the car, Hoffman said. He noted nothing was taken.
Police caught up to the teen on a nature trail, Hoffman said. After subsequent interviews, Hoffman said, police determined the boy was involved in more than 20 vehicle burglaries.
