Donahue bests Hanna in District 11

Incumbent Mike Donahue, R-Geneva, won another term on the County Board, according to unofficial election results with all precincts reporting.

Donahue secured 6,022 votes, or 63.4 percent, while Democrat Martha Hanna of Batavia Township got 3,472, or 36.6 percent.

Donahue will represent District 11, which includes parts of Batavia and Geneva.

"I feel honored my peers re-elected me to serve two more years," said Donahue, adding he hopes to serve his district with competency and common sense.

Hanna said she wasn't surprised to lose in a "very, very Republican" district.

"Thank you very much to everybody who voted for me," she said.

Donahue has championed the Settler’s Hill redevelopment planning project, chairing the task force that has overseen the work to date.

He said he is looking forward to focus on the project's implementation phase.

"I'm glad to have the opportunity to continue the work on it," Donahue said.
