Face Time with Stefan Woerle

Schaumburg resident Stefan Woerle, 32, was working at the Red Wall Kitchen booth at BatFest in Batavia when he answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Hanover Park

Pets? Fish

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Kevin Bacon

First job? In the kitchen at an assisted-living facility

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A “fossil finder,” [and] I became a graphic designer.

A book you’d recommend? “Welcome to the Monkey House” by Kurt Vonnegut

Hobbies? Home brewing beer, wine and kombucha

Favorite local restaurant? Daddio’s Diner in Batavia

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I used to spend my summers in Germany, first at the Dutch border with one grandma and then in Stuttgart with the other grandma. My parents were immigrants who spoke German, so it is my first language. I learned to speak English from the neighborhood kids.
