Festivities ensue during Fox Ballet’s grand opening weekend
ST. CHARLES – The Grand Opening of Fox Ballet, formerly the Underground Arts Connection in St. Charles, took place Nov. 2 and 3.
A weekend of festivities ensued including presentations, facility tours, international performances, demonstrations and workshops.
Fox Ballet is a company that offers multiple training programs including pre-professional ballet, commercial dance team, open dance classes, and adult training programs.
Fox Ballet is the home of DJDR Theater a full functioning Black Box theater, showcasing an array of events, such as concerts, workshops and dance company performances.
Rental spaces are also available for private events.
Other upcoming events include Fox Ballet’s annual holiday performance of “Ornaments,” on Dec. 15, at DJDR Theater, and Dec. 22 at Wheaten Academy, 900 Prince Crossing Road, West Chicago.
Fox Ballet will host the First annual Gala on Dec. 29. The event will feature Ken Killian Classic Big Band, and also includes fine cuisine, drinks, entertainment, and a champagne toast.
There will also be a Christmas workshop Dec. 26-28 at Fox Ballet featuring, Troy Powell, artistic director of Alvin Ailey 2, and Terry Fox, director of Fox Ballet. The workshop’s choreography will be a fusion of ballet and contemporary ballet.
