In Focus: Election Central

When I walked into my polling place to vote at 8 a.m. Tuesday, I was stunned that I was the only one there other than the election judges. After asking about the turnout until that point, the judges quickly assured me that I had just missed a rush of people and they expected to have a steady flow throughout the day.

Election judges Ed Runner and Elsie Schneider, both of Elburn, handled a steady crowd Tuesday at the Town and Country Public Library in Elburn and said that the only lull they had before 1 p.m. was around noon, when it started raining outside.

I have photographed voters for more than 16 years and most judges, volunteers and voters have welcomed me. The Town and Country Library was no different. Thank you all for your service.
