Batavia proposes balanced $89.6 million budget
BATAVIA – Residents likely will see the city portion of their tax bill stay about the same as a result of the proposed 2013 city budget.
Included in the $89.6 million balanced budget is a $21,000 reduction in the property tax levy because of a bond refunding done in 2012. City Finance Director Peggy Colby said the owner of a $300,000 home could see city taxes go down by $2.
The city portion of a typical Batavia tax bill is about 8 percent of the total bill, Colby said.
