Hammond, Ind., resident Darin Lee, 43, was at the St. Charles Chicago Pet Show when he answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Munster, Ind.

Pets? We run a rescue, so yes, we have pets. We have three dogs of our own, Moonshine and Ranger, a blue tick coonhound, and Moose, an English coonhound.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Jack Nicholson

First job? On an assembly line of a lighting company

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a fireman, but I did not become that. I became a rescuer.

A movie you’d recommend? “Scissors”

Favorite charity? My own rescue, Hound Dog Rescue and Save-A-Vet – they rescue police dogs and military dogs.

Hobbies? Photography and fishing

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I was an electrician for 17 years before I became a dog rescuer. We have rescued a little more than 2,000 dogs by now. Our website is www.houndsong.com.
