Police: Employees attacked at Sugar Grove pizzeria

SUGAR GROVE – Two employees of a local pizza restaurant were forced to fight off an irate man who entered the restaurant and attacked a restaurant employee after a disagreement over whether someone else was entitled to a free pizza, according to Sugar Grove Police reports.

Employees at Rosati’s Pizza in the 100 block of North Route 47 in Sugar Grove said the incident began Nov. 5, when the restaurant received a telephone call from a woman who claimed to have a receipt that entitled her to a free pizza, according to police reports.

The employee answering the phone, a man, 59, of Glendale Heights, checked the restaurant’s computer records and found no such notation, and he declined to give the caller any free food. About five minutes later, an unidentified white male wearing a black shirt entered the restaurant and demanded to know why the restaurant would not give the woman a free pizza, reports said.
