2012 Kane County Chronicle All-Area Girls Cross Country Team
FIRST TEAM
McKenzie Altmayer, Geneva, Fr.
Altmayer paced the Vikings sixth-place 3A state finishers with a 36th-place run in 17:27. "She's certainly a nice addition," coach Bob Thomson said, "but the addition of her along with everyone improving at the level they did was why we did so well."
Victoria Clinton, So.
The Kane County Chronicle Runner of the Year captured the individual 2A state title in 16:56, trimming 30 seconds from her overall personal record in the process. Clinton leads a young core that helped the Knights to a sixth-place team finish.
Brooke Nusser, Geneva, So.
Nusser's maturation alongside a handful of fellow experienced underclassmen stabilized the Vikings. The overall regional runner-up, she was the Vikings' second runner at sectionals state.
Ashley England, St. Charles North, Jr.
England proved a consistent force throughout the fall and started the stretch run with a third-place finish at the UEC River meet. At the 3A state meet, she was 40th in 17:29 to key the North Stars' 17th-place team finish.
