Batavia man charged with aggravated DUI

GENEVA – A Batavia man is being held in the Kane County Jail on $25,000 bond on felony charges of aggravated driving under the influence, according to police reports.

Brad M. Lewis, 47, of the 800 block of Forest Avenue, Batavia, also was charged Nov. 4 with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 percent and driving with a revoked license.

The felony charge carries a punishment of one to three years in prison and fines of up to $25,000.

Lewis is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

According to reports, police were called to the 7-Eleven at 621 W. State St. because of an intoxicated person in the store. Once Lewis came out and got in his car, which was parked in the lot, police stopped him and asked about his drinking, leading to his arrest, reports state.

According to Kane County court records, Lewis pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence in 2006.
