Hoop Dreams

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

For the last two and a half weeks I have been working with the sports staff to bring you this year's basketball pre-season pullout section.

As part of the coverage, I attended a St. Charles North girls practice where standout player Liz McNally, who is currently injured, and team manager Janna Blowers were goofing off while running the clock.

Most of the work I did though was to take portraits of the top ten preseason girls and boys players of the year. I always feel so lucky to work with such talented and friendly student athletes.

This year, I was so grateful that the staff and management at the Kane County Fairgrounds gave me full reign to photograph the players anywhere on the grounds. Every year, I'm always looking for new and unique spots for the portraits and the fairgrounds was the perfect answer. I'm almost kicking myself that I hadn't thought of it sooner.
