Fatal crash in Batavia still under investigation
BATAVIA – The investigation into a crash on Randall Road that killed a Batavia woman continues.
Amy P. Holtorf, 43, of Batavia, was traveling north at 11:52 p.m. Wednesday on Randall Road, just south of Mill Creek, when her 2005 Honda Odyssey crossed the center lane and struck a 2012 Nissan Rogue traveling southbound.
Holtorf died at the scene. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
“We are still waiting for a report from the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team,” Batavia police Detective Kevin Bretz said Monday.
The occupants of the Nissan were an Aurora couple. The husband – who was the driver of the Nissan – remains in critical condition at an area hospital, Bretz said.
The man’s wife was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
