Waubonsee exhibit spotlights Aurora

AURORA – The city of Aurora is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year.

In commemoration of the event, Waubonsee Community College is currently hosting a “Picturing Aurora” art exhibit through Dec. 13 in the first floor café at the downtown Aurora Campus, 18 S. River St., Aurora. The exhibit is open for viewings from 7:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays.

Various exhibited pieces by students and alumni artists Holly Bliss, Timothy McCann and José Torres, all of Aurora, and Capo of Geneva, showcase the beauty of the city.

An awards presentation and artists’ reception is scheduled to take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6.
