Letter: A great event and a new board
To the Editor:
The Elburn Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon Nov. 1 for the “Monthly Member Meeting.” The lunch was held at Acquaviva Winery, on Route 38 in Maple Park. Acquaviva is a new chamber member.
A special thanks to Joe from Acquaviva, who helped the chamber plan and prepare for the lunch. The location and food were great! The hospitality and customer service were phenomenal, and our waitresses were more than kind in accommodating our large group.
We would like to thank everyone who took time out of their day to attend our meeting, and we would also like to announce the new board for the next term, which begins in 2013.
The new board was finalized and elected at this meeting. Congratulations to Karen Park from Old Second Bank as president; Dan Murphy from Edward Jones as vice president of committees; Joe Smitherman from American Family Insurance as vice president of marketing; Cindy Gurke from American Family Insurance as secretary; and Celia Rocha from National Bank and Trust as treasure.
Our next meeting will take place at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Town and Country Public Library in Elburn. This meeting will be a “Breakfast & Learn.” We will be having Rich from Snap Fitness in Elburn doing a short presentation about his great business, with a special offer for our chamber members. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting and welcoming our new chamber board.
