HAMPSHIRE – The skeletal remains of what Kane County Sheriff’s deputies suspect is the body of a Hampshire women who went missing in May were discovered Friday morning.

Kathleen S. Wilk, 52, of Hampshire, was last seen May 6 near the Lakewood Crossings subdivision where she lived, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

Hampshire police were searching the heavily wooded area behind the Lakewood Crossings subdivision Friday morning when they found the remains and clothing three houses down from Wilk’s home, Kane County Sheriff’s Lt. Pat Gengler said.
