Prep roundup: Aurora Central Catholic boys win second tourney game
JOLIET – The Aurora Central Catholic boys basketball team won its second straight game at the Joliet West Tournament, ripping Thornridge on Friday, 83-58.
The Chargers (2-1) were led by Phil Schuetz (21 points) and Shawn Soris (16).
Up 33-22 at halftime, ACC exploded for 30 points in the third quarter to put the game away.
Wheaton Academy Tournament: Wheaton Academy knocked off Downers Grove North, 65-56, to improve to 3-0 on the season.
The Warriors were led by 22 points from Collin Roy and 13 from Brandon Ruggles. They’ll return to action at 8 p.m. today against Bartlett.
