ST. CHARLES – More than 13,000 people attended the Electric Christmas Parade on Saturday in downtown St. Charles, making it the most attended Holiday Homecoming parade in recent history, the Downtown St. Charles Partnership announced Thursday.
The parade had more than 50 entries. First-, second- and third-place winners were named in four categories:
• Children’s showcase: Fire truck/Cub Scout Pack 151, first; Cub Scout Pack 146, second; Cub Scout Pack 251, third.
• Nonprofit showcase: Kane County Car Club, first; St. Charles Breakfast Rotary Club, second; Lazarus House, third.
• Business showcase: The Filling Station, first; Lighted Teddy bear/Fritz Appraisals, second; AV Overhead Garage Door Inc., third.
• Best of show: Fire truck/Cub Scout Pack 151, first; The Filling Station, second; Lighted Teddy bear/Fritz Appraisals, third.
Visits with Santa will continue in the First Street Plaza Santa House each Saturday and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Dec. 23.
