Face Time with Robin Carberry

Robin Carberry, 37, was at the St. Charles Chicago Pet Show when she answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Homer Glen

Pets? Four dogs – three Australian cattle dogs named Bandit, Frenzy and Mystic and one border collie named Graham. And I foster Cowboy, an Australian cattle dog.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Scarlett Johansson

First job? I cleaned day care centers.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a horse and dog trainer, and yes I became that.

A book you’d recommend? “Game of Thrones” by George R. R. Martin

Favorite charity? All Herding Breed Dog Rescue of Illinois – which is our own – online www.allherdingbreeddogrescue.com. This is our first year.

Hobbies? I run agility with my dogs.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? In the three years we were with our first rescue, Australian Cattle Dog Rescue, we had 300 dogs adopted out. We left that one to start our own. Herding breeds are very active, fun-loving dogs and they are extremely smart. We are here to hopefully adopt some dogs out from the rescue.
