GENEVA – The Creche Luncheon is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Dec. 13 and Dec. 15 at the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St., Geneva.
The Creche Luncheon is continuing a Geneva tradition established more than 80 years ago at the Little Traveler.
The story behind the Creche goes back to the 1930s, when Little Traveler’s Kate Raftery purchased an antique Neapolitan nativity set and displayed it in a 17th Century French Provincial corner bed.
The Creche became a focal point for many holiday luncheons. It now resides at the Geneva History Center where the tradition continues.
The luncheon serves as a fundraiser for the Geneva History Center. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to conserve figures displayed in the Creche nativity scene.
A group of Geneva notables will once again serve as the waitstaff for the event. The luncheon will be prepared by students in the Culinary Department of Geneva High School.
Tickets cost $55 and can be purchased at the Geneva History Center or online at www.genevahistorycenter.org.
