The Giving Moon performs in August at the House of Blues in Chicago.

ST. CHARLES – Local teen indie rock band The Giving Moon is scheduled to perform the opening show for classic rock musicians Eddie Money, Edgar Winter and John Cafferty at 8 p.m.

Saturday at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles.Tickets range from $35-$89 and can be purchased in advance at www.oshows.com.

The Giving Moon is comprised of two freshmen from St. Charles East and two freshmen at St. Charles North high schools. Members range in age from 14 to 15 years old. The band formed two years ago and has been making significant strides in the music scene. Lead guitarist and vocalist Sean Seales and drummer Ryan Brasley started their music careers as a garage band, having their first concert to raise money for a St. Baldricks charity event.

The band decided to give back to the community through musical performance and members therefore called themselves The Giving Moon. They added bass player Adam Suto and rhythm guitarist Marcello Positano in 2009.

Three upcoming events scheduled for December include a concert Dec. 7 at the VFW in St. Charles, an event Dec. 8 at Under The Big Top, and a debut performance Dec. 15 at Even Flow Music & Spirits in Geneva.
