The springy Washington added 11 points and 14 rebounds, with 10 of her rebounds coming in the first half.

"I'm always looking forward to getting more rebounds than points," Washington said.

Drumtra was encouraged by her team's scoring distribution, especially considering starting point guard Amanda Hilton missed her second straight game while in California playing a travel soccer tournament. Hilton will have to sit the next game and a half upon her return, per team rules, as the Saints turn their attention to next week's games against West Chicago and Geneva.

North had nobody in double figures offensively. Silverman (nine points), senior Natalie Winkates (seven) and sophomore Ashling Davern (six points, seven rebounds) paced the North Stars.

"What we just need to work on is our mental toughness and our ability to be resilient when a team does something well," said North coach Colleen Backer, who shared the microphone with Drumtra before the game in a breast cancer awareness ceremony.

North has yet to play a home game but will open a five-game homestand on Tuesday against Grayslake Central. Backer hopes the home cooking affords her team a fresh start after the winless first few weeks.

"It's a great group of kids, but it takes a lot of character to kind of deal with a situation like that for everyone," Backer said.
