First Team Izzie Bindseil St. Charles East, Jr. The champion in the 200 freestyle at the St. Charles North Sectional, Bindseil also swam on the Saints’ state-qualifying 400 freestyle relay.

Nicole Chapko St. Charles East, Sr. The Chronicle’s Girls Swimmer of the Year won the 200 IM title at the St. Charles North Sectional before a productive state meet: sixth in the 100 breaststroke, ninth in the 200 IM and anchor for Saints’ 12th place 400 freestyle.

Annie Gosselin Rosary, Fr. The versatile freshman qualified for the state meet in four events and led a young Rosary team with a ninth place state finish in the 100 backstroke.

Shea Hoyt St. Charles East, Jr. Hoyt claimed the 100 breaststroke title at the St. Charles North Sectional, then turned in the fifth fastest time (1:03.92) in the event on the final day of the state meet, though she was racing in the consolation final.

Mary Snyder St. Charles East, Sr. The Villanova recruit finished 11th in the state in the 200 freestyle and 12th in the 100 free, in addition to being part of East’s 400 freestyle relay qualifier. Notched a pair of second-place individual finishes at sectionals.

Chloe Tykal St. Charles North, Sr. Tykal notched a St. Charles North Sectional championship swim in the 500 freestyle. Narrowly missed state cut in the 200 IM.

COACH OF THE YEAR Joe Cabel St. Charles East Cabel coached the Saints to a sectional championship as the Saints eventually qualified 11 individuals and three relay teams for the IHSA State Meet. East also finished runners-up to Neuqua Valley in the Upstate Eight Conference.
