AURORA – The Rosary girls basketball team put on a “defensive clinic,” according to Royals coach Jessie Wilcox, as Rosary shut down Guerin, 44-12, on Monday in Suburban Christian Conference play.
Quincy Kellett scored 14 points and Rachel Choice added 10 to lead the Royals (5-4, 2-0 SCC Gold).
Wilcox praised Karly Tate for her work on the glass and said Amy Seraphin played great post defense.
St. Francis girls down SCC rival
WHEATON – Senior guards Kate Slattery (19 points) and Aly Germanos (18) keyed the St. Francis girls basketball team’s 60-49 victory on Monday against SCC rival Marian Central.
The Spartans (2-6, 2-1 SCC Gold) “played solidly enough” on defense, coach Mike Phillips said, and were tough on the Hurricanes’ shooters in key sequences.
