Tap House Grill recently raised more than $1,800 for local charities at its second annual Turkey Bowl for Charity.

Nearly 400 attendees participated at five different Tap House Grill restaurant locations with in the Chicago area, including the location in St. Charles. All donations were given to the following local charities: Kendall County Food Pantry, People’s Resource Center in Westmont, Salvation Army of St. Charles, the Plainfield Moose Lodge and Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.

In a news release, Owner Scott Ward said: “Our second annual Turkey Bowl was a huge success, as we doubled the amount of donations this year thanks to the wonderful support of our guests and the community. We look forward to next year’s event and a goal of raising $5,000.”

Turkey Bowl participants donated $5 for two throws in a makeshift bowling alley made at each participating location. Customers that knocked down all the pins went home with a free turkey for Thanksgiving. A total of 36 remaining turkeys were also donated to the local charities in addition to proceeds.
