No opposition yet for Schielke in Batavia
BATAVIA – It’s still unknown whether Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke will have any opposition in his bid for a ninth term.
Monday is the first day to file nominating petitions for the April consolidated election. Schielke, who began his first term as Batavia mayor in 1981, recently announced he will run for re-election.
Batavia 2nd Ward Alderman Alan Wolff and former Batavia MainStreet executive director Britta McKenna, who lost in their bids to unseat Schielke in 2009, said they have no plans to run against him again.
