‘Hobbit’ to premiere at Charlestowne 18 in high speed projection
ST. CHARLES – All Classic Cinema theaters are now using the “High Frame Rate” process (double the projection rate of normal film at 48 frames per second) for its films, according to a news release.
High Film Rate provides audiences with more life-like images and sharpened 3D effects, according to the release.
Charlestowne 18, which is one of only a handful of Chicago-area theaters to premiere the film “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” will be utilizing High Frame Rate for the projection of the film.
“Along with our digital 3D capabilities and new state-of-the-art digital projection and sound technology, movie-goers will have a more engaging experience at the movies,” Chris Johnson, vice president of Classic Cinemas said in the release. “You will feel like you’re a part of all the action.”
The film will premiere at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14. The theater is located at 3740 E. Main St., St. Charles.
