Davis, Metea Valley down St. Charles East boys basketball

ST. CHARLES – Nearly a week after one of its most impressive team performances in a victory over Geneva, St. Charles East struggled to find its groove against a pesky yet quick and calm Metea Valley squad in an Upstate Eight Conference crossover battle.

Led by 24 points from senior forward Sean Davis, the Mustangs picked up a 69-64 win over East (5-2) before a nearly-packed gym Thursday.

“I don’t know if we were ready to play right off the bat,” East coach Pat Woods said. “It seemed like we were a little too overconfident.”
