Foster appointed to House Committee on Financial Services

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Today, the House Democratic Caucus voted unanimously to appoint Congressman-Elect Bill Foster to the House Committee on Financial Services, Foster reported in a news release.

Foster served on the committee during the 110th and 111th Congresses, and participated in the creation of several important reforms in the financial services and housing sectors, most notably the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Returning to the committee will provide Foster with an opportunity to ensure the effective implementation of these reforms, and to advocate for the needs of his constituents as the committee considers financial service and housing related proposals that emerge as a result of the ongoing “fiscal cliff” negotiations.

“I was proud to help pass the most important financial services reform in over two decades,” said Foster. “As our nation’s economy continues to recover, it is more important than ever to craft and implement balanced initiatives that will help our small businesses and community banking institutions create good jobs and homes, while protecting our neighbors from fraud and abuse. I look forward to working with both sides of the aisle on the committee.”

What do you think of people using fireworks near their homes?

That shouldn't be tolerated. It's dangerous.
I'd never do it, but I'll watch others.
It's OK so long as the fireworks are legal.
It's not a problem. It's just a way to celebrate.
I have no opinion.
