I'm glad I keep rubber boots in my car, because I definitely needed them this week as I headed out into the field at Field of Dreams Farm in Elburn to meet Lola, a sweet, red and white mare.
Lola was taken in by Sue Balla, who runs Casey's Safe Haven horse rescue, after she was found to be severely underfed and underweight. She is now on her way to recovery and was as beautiful as ever.
