Rush: Geneva Chamber gears up for 2013

For a few weeks in January, I’ll write 2012 on checks. Yes, I am a check gal. There is something satisfying about paying a bill that way. I know it is 2013, but for 12 months I have written 2012. Habits are hard to break.

However, at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, we have been thinking about 2013 for quite some time. Dates are already set for our four festivals and a few other events.

Thinking about ways that we can enhance these events, while complementing favorites already in place, is a never-ending topic in our office. Producing high-quality festivals always is a priority, and to do that, there are many balls to juggle. So, what will 2013 bring to the Swedish Days Festival presented by Cadence Health? The Geneva Arts Fair? Festival of the Vine and the Christmas Walk/House Tour? Mark the dates on your calendar so you don’t miss any excitement this year.

In the spring, “60 Men Who Cook” gets a name change to “30 Men vs. 30 Women Who Cook.” On April 19, the men will compete against the women in culinary taste. Who will be the reigning sex at the event that raises money for four nonprofits? Put this date on your April things-to-do list and let your taste buds decide.
