ECC facility to be built in Burlington
ELGIN – Construction of Elgin Community College’s public safety and sustainability center is expected to begin in spring in Burlington, according to a news release from the college.
The $18 million facility will house the college’s energy management, truck driving and firefighter and police training programs. It will include a burn tower, tactical village and wind turbine on an 118-acre site on Plank Road.
ECC plans to buy the land for about $1.63 million.
