Sugar Grove Police Reports
• An employee of a company performing dredging work on a pond in a neighborhood near Cornwall Court and Merrill New Road in Sugar Grove told police that he discovered on Dec. 13 that someone had sliced five large hoses that his company had placed on the job site. While investigating that incident, police also were told by those living near the pond of other acts of destruction of property, including damaged Christmas decorations and a smashed home window. All the damage is believed to have occurred between Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 in the region around Merrill New Road and Carlisle Court, police said.
• The manager of a bank in the 400 block of North Route 47, Sugar Grove, told police on Dec. 12 that the bank believes an employee, who had been terminated for poor performance, may have taken more than $4,200 from a teller drawer. The next day, bank managers also told police that it believes the amount missing had increased to about $6,000. Police said the incident remains under investigation.
• Thomas Cooper, 60, of the 100 block of Chelsea Avenue, Sugar Grove, was charged Dec. 15 with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and operating an uninsured vehicle.
