Prep roundup: North claims crosstown swim meet

ST. CHARLES – Veterans David Chokran, Kyle Gannon, Spencer Gray and Nick Kowaleski helped the St. Charles North boys swimming and diving team defeat host St. Charles East, 111-75, on Friday in an Upstate Eight Conference dual.

Chokran’s night included an individual title in the 100-yard breaststroke and a winning turn with the victorious 200 medley relay that also featured Austin Stapella, Kevin Leavy and Kowaleski.

“I was extremely happy with the effort that the boys made today in regards to competing,” North Stars coach Rob Rooney said. “If there’s once thing we’ve all got to work on right now, it’s common sense. We’re dealing with a few kids walking into Christmas break, and we’ve got to set a bar for ourselves that still includes competing and setting the parameters for the end of the season.”
