As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Second baseman for the Cubs. I did not become that. I became a minister instead.
A book or movie you’d recommend? “The Book of Awakening” by Mark Nepo and the new movie, “Les Miserables”
Favorite charity? Children International. My daughter and I have supported a girl in Ecuador for 10 years.

Favorite local restaurant? East China Inn in Batavia
What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I used to drink in a bar, which was described as a saloon full of characters without character. And now I’ve been sober for 35 years. I am a retired minister from a church in Muskegon, Mich. I do a workshop on weekends at different churches based on the spiritual principles of the 12 steps.
